The Pride of America and all Hawaii cruises take security very serious with the ports of call during the cruise. This means that there are rules and locations regarding taxis, Uber and Lyft. I am going to help you out by giving you the locations for pick-up and drop-off with maps and how to get there. With Honolulu is very simple as taxis and Uber/Lyft can pull up to the same general area to drop off.
Maui Taxi, Uber and Lyft pick up map
First stop on the Pride of America cruise is Maui. The map below will show you the taxi pickup location that is right outside the terminal building by the restrooms. In every port the terminal building is the first warehouse like building that you walk through with security inside. For taxi pick-up there will be a security person in an orange vest managing the taxi pick-up spot. If there are no taxis there just ask them and they normally know when they will be back and sometimes they will call a taxi driver. Normally the taxis are rotating non stop with rides. If you are looking to rent a car this is your fastest way to get to the airport less than a 10 minute drive away.
For Uber and Lyft pick-up you will need to walk out of the parking lot through the security check point and down the only pathway for about a 10 minute walk. You will end up at a street looking towards CVS Longs Drugs. Cross that street and you can order your Uber and Lyft to pick-up there or at the Whole Foods right next to it. For Uber and Lyft Drop off some are approved to come just outside the secure parking lot by the ship which you can see on the map. Just make sure to set your drop off location there. Most times you can actually put Pride of America in Uber and Lyft as an address and those spots can be chosen like an address. Remember this is an overnight stay and there is no curfew so you can come back late at night or the next day. Just make sure you’re there before the ship leaves the next day.
Hilo Taxi, Uber and Lyft pick up map
Next up is part of the Big Island with Hilo. You will see a pattern in some of what I describe and this will get easier and easier for you each day of the cruise. Once again you’re going through the terminal building where you will run into the taxi and shuttle pick area. Normally a Walmart shuttle runs that is free just ask security in the vest and look for signs. To get to the Uber and Lyft pick up area you need to take a left once you leave the terminal building and walk along the fence line all the way out to the past the security check point. There you can set your marker and Uber and Lyft drivers will pick you up and then do a U-turn to take you where you need. Uber and Lyft drivers that are approved can drop off farther inside just past the Taxi and tour drop off locations.

The 3rd stop on the Pride of America is the other side of the Big Island with Kona. This is the only tender port for the Pride of America which another one of our guides explain. Once you get over to the port everything is much closer than the other ports you have had so far. Make sure you’re back to the ship in time!

The last overnight stop for the Pride of America is Kauai. This is a nice and simple port that they are slowly making improvements to make it easier on guests. One of those is a new Uber and Lyft pick up spot closer to the terminal building. There will be free shuttles that run to the shops less than a 10 minute walk away.
Last up we have Honolulu when you’re debarking the Pride of America. It is very simple and you will have taxi’s right out front where you leave. If you walk towards the right once you leave the terminal building you will see an open lot where Uber and Lyft will be picking up.
